Married on 5 November 1623 at Thornton-le-Moors to ELIZABETH BENNETTE.

Born about 1610 at Thornton-le-Moors and baptised there on 23 December 1610.

 

Married JANE ?, born about 1601, died February 1663 at Thornton-le-Moors and buried there on 4 February 1663.

 

Died October 1671 at Tarvin, Cheshire aged 61 and buried there on 15 October 1671.

ROBERT DAINTETH

 

Born about 1648 at Thornton-le-Moors and baptised there on 23 April 1648.

 

Married on 28 December 1672 at Tarvin ELIZABETH HACKNELL or HACKNETT, born about 1652 at Kelsall, Cheshire.

 

Died January 1707 at Tarvin aged 59 and buried there on 23 January 1707.

Born about 1684 at Tarvin and baptised there on 10 October 1684.

 

Married on 30 June 1707 at Tarvin ELIZABETH HOLLMS.

Married (2) on 30 June 1745 MARGARET HUGHES.

Married on 21 September 1784 at Tarvin MARY WRIGHT, born about 1767 at Tarvin and baptised there on 11 January 1767.

 

Died on 24 December 1803 at Kelsall aged 53.

Married on 27 June 1808 at Tarvin MARY BRISCOE, born on 4 August 1788 at Kelsall and baptised on 21 September 1788 at Frodsham, Cheshire, daughter of William Briscoe.  She died on 5 August 1849 at Liverpool, Lancashire, and was buried there on 9 August 1849.

 

Census 30 March 1851:  Derby Road, Everton, Lancashire, butcher.

 

Died on 4 March 1858 at Everton aged 73.

Census 2 April 1871:  Stockport Road, Levenshulme, rope maker.

Census 3 April 1881:  Elbow Street, Levenshulme, rope maker.

Census 5 April 1891:  13 Elbow Street, Levenshulme, labourer.

Census 2 April 1911:  56 Tanyard Brow, Gorton, Manchester

 

Died about 1916 at Gorton, Manchester aged about 91.

Born about 1871 at Levenshulme and baptised there on 19 February 1871.

Census 5 April 1891:  14 Tiverton Street, Ardwick, Manchester, carpet weaver.

 

Married on 9 April 1898 at Levenshulme PHOEBE COOPER, born in 1871 at Levenshulme and baptised there on 18 June 1871.  She died on 14 November 1932 at Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada and was buried there at Woodlawn Cemetery.

 

Census 31 March 1901:  21 Sickle Street, Oldham, Lancashire, stone mason.

Census 15 April 1910:  Kearney, Hudson, New Jersey, U.S.A., stone mason.

 

Arrival 8 April 1910:  at Rouses Point, New York, U.S.A.  Charles and his family crossed the Canadian border into the U.S.  Address in Canada:  Dufferin Avenue, Montreal.

 

Arrival 28 March 1911:  at Bridgeburg, Ontario, Canada.  Charles and his family crossed the U.S. border into Canada, travelling from East Newark, N.J. to Vancouver, B.C.

Departure 3 March 1922:  from Liverpool, Lancashire on the “Melita”.  Arrived at Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada on 12 March 1922.  Address in Canada:  836 Avenue I South, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.  Occupation:  cement worker.

 

Departure 21 February 1939:  from Auckland on the “Aorangi”, cabin class, bound for Vancouver, Canada.  (There is no newspaper record of Charles’s arrival in New Zealand, presumably to visit his son James).

Arrival 8 April 1910:  Rouses Point, New York, U.S.A.  James with his family crossed the Canadian border into the U.S.  Address in Canada:  Dufferin Avenue, Montreal.

Emigrated to New Zealand some time between June 1921 and 1923. 

James participated in the Canadian Census on 1 June 1921, and established his pattern making business in Auckland in 1923, as evidenced by the date on the 100 Franklin Road building.  He placed an advertisement for the business in the New Zealand Herald on 17 January 1925.  James is included in the New Zealand electoral roll for 1925, but not for 1922.

 

Married (1) on 15 September 1926 at Stanley Bay, Auckland, New Zealand RITA AKARANA BERTRAND, born on 29 January 1901 at Auckland, died on 17 March 1938 at Devonport, Auckland and buried at Hillsborough Cemetery, Auckland.

 

Married (2) on 20 December 1939 at Christ Church, Papakura, Auckland NORAH ALICE CLARKE, born on 13 December 1905 at Simla, Himachai Pradesh, India, and baptised there on 19 January 1906.  She died on 1 January 1990 at Auckland, and was buried on 4 January 1990 at North Shore Memorial Park Cemetery and Crematorium, Albany, Auckland.
